Hasta La Vista

This is great reading.

I notice that Jim has totally lost his grip on reality in the wake of Sadie's pending demise. And, in his absence, his board that I vowed not to read anymore (I know, but a car wreck is difficult to turn away from) has turned into total anarchy. Total verification that the internet...and the world...in some quarters is a VERY scary and unsettling place.

That was a great read Col. Thanks.
Thought Virginia Graham had died, had her confused with Ronnie Howard.

No offense, but how does this work. I don't question your love for Charlie Manson, but he has been in prison now for abt. 40 years. You are, what, 45 years old or so.

At what point did you decide you love a man incarcerated when you were barely out of diapers? What is it about him that makes you continue to love him, in full knowledge of the atrocities with which his name is associated? I'm curious.

I know a lot of women do fall in love with convicted lifers, and very often with people they have never met and most likely have no real chance of meeting, but never understood how the spark of love is kindled. I can understand love formed by meeting someone face to face, and the thrill of increasing physical contact through prolonged proximity, but how does it work when one of you is locked away. For ever.

Tell me to mind my own business if you like, it's probably what I deserve, but I would be interested in your comments.

Frank: Please go to the "Prison Talk" website, and look at the thread "MWI" which stands for "Met While Incarcerated", and the thread "Loving a Lifer". Plenty of women (and men!) meet the love of their life through prison pen pals, and enjoy a nice, healthy loving relationship by writing, phone calls and the occasional visit. It's not all about the sex. Not even for the men. I'd imagine it's the same as being a war bride, a mail-order bride, or having an arranged marriage. And with the current Amerikan divorce rate hovering around 50% for "normal" couples who met in the singles bar, becoming involved with an inmate isn't any more or less successful.

Deadwood: Your message to Frank R. via Jodi was sent. I'm not particularly smart, I just write for a living.

Jean Harlow: Bodies at Barker: "They aren't going to find anything". And lo and behold, he was right. Bodies at Spahn Ranch? Was that a typo, or did I miss something?

About Susan: Has already been posted here, on this site, somewhere.

I don't know if he's gotten the information about Steve Grogan yet, since it wasn't in their local paper, and not on TV, and mail turnaround is 4 - 6 weeks.

hi jean, I know you weren't asking me, but from what I remember reading on here, Charlie's supposed words in response to Susan's illness were along the lines of her being an angel, she will never die, she did "God's will" in the fight against pollution by helping to murder all those people, a great job behaving the way she did during the trial, and her "fear" is what made her turn from him and seek rehabilitation.

At least that's how I read it. How did you all read it?
